Educational Progam

This  course is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians and advance practice providers who are interested in the management of urological disease. Our cadre of well-respected faculty will provide information on new surgical techniques and treatment modalities now available in Urology.  Our learning modalities encourage audience participation and group discussion.  Learning Objectives include: 

  • Understand the role of adjuvant therapy in cancer
  • Understand the role of emerging technologies in treating prostate cancer
  • Understand MRI findings significant for prostate cancer and the role of MRI in diagnosing/staging prostate cance
  • Know the indications and ideal patent for male sling for post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence
  • Know indications for female sling for stress urinary incontinence and how to address potential complications
  • Identify risks and appropriateness of radiologic studies with ionizing radiation
  • Identify practical methods to reduce radiation exposure in fluoroscopy to yourself and patients
  • Understand the methods available to endoscopically address BPH
  • Manage the complications that arise in complex reconstructive transgender surgeries
  • Acknowledge the complexities and indications of antibiotic utilization
  • Review/understand the current health policies that impact urology providers and access to care

The small group atmosphere we create for the attendees provides ample opportunity to interact with faculty and colleagues alike.  We expect community and academic physicians, advanced practice providers and resident physicians from throughout the region to come.
